Meet Us
At Drac Art Studio, our artists blend many artistic techniques with digital magic to craft images that tell stories and spark emotion.
Xavier A. Calderon
My work lives in the space between where I started and where I’ve allowed myself to go. I began with pencil and paper, working in a controlled, linear way, but everything shifted when I was introduced to digital tools at VSU. What started as learning new programs became a complete change in how I think about making art.
Photoshop is where I feel the most freedom. I build images the way thoughts come together—layered, fragmented, and sometimes unexpected. I’m drawn to creating poster-like compositions where different elements collide and form something new. The tension between unrelated objects is what interests me, and my process often feels like discovering the piece as I go rather than planning it from the start.
I don’t always begin with a clear message, and I’m comfortable leaving meaning open. Sometimes it reveals itself over time, and sometimes it belongs entirely to the viewer. I want my work to create a pause—something that invites people to look longer and question what they’re seeing.
